Marvel has released a short teaser clip for ‘The Avengers’ which includes the final scene of ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and a short clip from ‘The Avengers’ teaser that followed the credits of Cap. Here’s to hoping that the full teaser trailer is released sometime in the near future.
Comic book nerds have been waiting for some time for a movie that brings ‘The Avengers’ to the big screen. The teaser poster is out for the future blockbuster hit that will be released on May 4, 2012. Even though the poster doesn’t really tease at all, it is something to appease the constant drooling of fans.
This movie seems to be one of those projects that seems to big to pull off, but the ensemble for this bad boy seems poised for success. ‘Serenity’ director Joss Whedon is directing and writing the flick. The cast is absurd. Here is a breakdown of the cast:
The Hulk – Mark Ruffalo
Captain America – Chris Evans
Thor – Chris Hemsworth
Iron Man – Robert Downey Jr.
Nick Fury – Samuel L. Jackson
Hawkeye – Jeremy Renner
Black Widow – Scarlett Johansson
Col. James Rhodes – Don Cheadle
Also, the official website for the movie has been launched. On the site you can download the poster, track the news at Comic Con, and receive updates.
As many might have expected, the first trailer for ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ didn’t actually premiere at the front end of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.’ Rather, it found it’s way to the worldwide web as an exclusive on iTunes Trailers, which instantly becomes a non-exclusive hit onYouTube.
One of the most exciting things for me about the trailer was that Noomi Rapace’s character was featured quite a bit. The Swedish actress caught people’s attention in her leading role as ‘Lisbeth Salander’ in the ‘Girl with the Dragoon Tatoo’ trilogy (Denmark). Her role in ‘A Game of Shadows’ will be her first role in an American film. She also has signed on to be a part of Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ and David Slade’s ‘The Last Voyage of Demeter’.
The trailer also features a quick look at the Holme’s foe in the movie, Jared Harris, who will be playing the role of Professor Moriaty. Harris most recently been in ‘The Ward’, ‘Extraordinary Measures’, ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, as well as roles in the TV Series’ ‘Mad Men’ & ‘Fringe’.
‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ will be in theaters December 16, 2011.
Check out the two new ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ movie posters that were just released. (Via Yahoo). Excitement is swirling around this sequel this week, after news came out that the first trailer was possibly going to be attached to the beginning of HP7 Pt. 2. Guy Ritchie is back in the director’s seat for a second go around, as well as Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams. Noomi Rapace (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ Trilogy) and Jared Harris have also joined the cast.
‘Sherlock Holmes’ did exceptionally well according to the critics and the box office. The film earned a grade of 70% on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and a 57 from Metacritic. ‘Holmes’ also earned over a half billion dollars in the box office ($524,028,679 via BoxOfficeMojo).
The first installment of the ‘Holmes’ series was easily Ritchie’s most successful movie in the box office. Ritchie also directed ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrells’ which both received passing grades on Rotten Tomatoes (72% & 73% respectively). His average grade as a director on Rotten Tomatoes is a 49.2% (6 films).
The previous writers are out, and Kieran Mulroney is in. This is only the second film that Mulroney has written, with Paper Man (RottenTomatoes: 29%/Metacritic: 37) being his only film on his resume.
The fact that this trailer is attached to HP7 Pt. 2, as well as the trailer for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, has me stoked for the midnight showing. After thoroughly enjoying ‘Sherlock Holmes’, I have high hopes, but am tempering my expectations with a new writer in the fold.
‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ release date is December 16, 2011.
